2017 Corpus Christi Heart Ball
Saturday, February 11, 2017
On Saturday, February 11, 2017, the American Heart Association will hold the “Hearts in Havana” Heart Ball, honoring Lt. General Marc & Eddy Cisneros and Dr. Shamim Badruddin & Dr. Srikanth Damaraju for their leadership and contributions to our community. The Heart Ball raises funds to reduce death and disability from heart disease and stroke, our #1 killer and the leading cause of long-term disability.
This year's event will transform the Solomon P. Ortiz Center into a swanky and romantic Cuban-infused destination at the “Hearts in Havana” Heart Ball. Each year, this themed affair celebrates the culture, arts, and philanthropic spirit of the Corpus Christi community. Swaying to the eclectic sounds of modern rumba and Cuban jazz, you’ll be charmed by the romance of Old Havana just in time for Valentine’s Day with cocktails, dinner, dancing, and a live and silent auction… all while raising funds for an incredible mission.
The American Heart Association’s research, education, and advocacy continue to help children, families, and communities live heart-healthy lives. We fund more cardiovascular research - including research for children - than any organization outside the federal government (we have invested in excess of $3.5 billion). We have funded research by 13 Nobel Prize winners and have been part of many lifesaving advancements over our 90-year history, such as the first artificial heart valve, cholesterol-inhibiting drugs, and heart transplantation. We have advocated for and placed AEDs in first responder vehicles and public places. Our science drives CPR techniques and guidelines nationwide and insures that every high school student in Texas and 34 other states learns CPR before they graduate.
Our Mission
Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Our mission drives everything we do.
